ADLINK provides Dual subsystems with Redundancy and Fail-safe design for Automatic Train Operation
Automatic Train Operation (ATO) is used to enhance the safety of rail operations by automating station stops and starts of trains. ATO systems can also be linked with Automatic Train Control (ATC) which carry out signalling operations such as routing and train regulation. The ATO and ATC/ATP systems work together to keep trains running according to set timetables within defined tolerances. The combined system adjusts operating parameters such as power-to-coast ratio and station dwell time in order to keep trains in their allotted timetable slots.
With increasing traffic loads and complexity of technology in the railway environment, an advanced computing platform with high vibration resistance, ease of expandability and low Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) is needed to meet the reliability and performance requirements of high-speed rail transportation. CompactPCI platforms deliver advantages in computing power, wide operating temperature range, vibration resistance, lower MTTR and remote management and monitoring capabilities.
CompactPCI systems are enabling ATO and ATC systems by providing solutions featuring Reliability, Availability, Serviceability, and Scalability, and with increased ruggedness, shorter mean time to repair (MTTR), higher density and improved performance.
