MXE-200i and
MXE-100i IoT gateways, based on the Intel® IoT Gateway platform, offer an excellent choice of computing power. Combining the advantages of the Wind River Intelligent Device Platform XT, McAfee Embedded Control, and ADLINK's SEMA Cloud, the
MXE-200i and
MXE-100i provide pre-integrated, pre-validated hard-and-software building blocks that deliver all the necessary computing, communication, connectivity, security, and manageability capabilities to establish an industrial-grade cloud-based IoT application.
In an automated parking system environment, the
MXE-200i can be installed at the entrance of the parking complex, connecting to payment card readers and camera sensors reading plate numbers and vehicle dimensions. The
MXE-200i, powered by the Intel® AtomTM processor E3845 or E3826, offers flexible and rich I/O and enable primary image processing and analytics before transmitting results to the local
MXE-5400 server. This server gathers data from all gateways for local intelligent applications and forwards application-specific data to the cloud.
Once a vehicle's dimensions are determined by this system, a vehicle can be assigned to the nearest spot of minimally appropriate size. This intelligent approach increases efficiency of space utilization and is just one example of the benefits intelligent systems can deliver.
The
MXE-100i connects to and collects data from the PLC, which is then transmitted in PC-based formats to the local server. Accordingly, data concerning the operating state of the automated parking system enables real-time monitoring, reducing the need for onsite visits and thus reducing maintenance costs and increasing efficiency.
