The aTCA-3420 is a 20-port 10GbE Fabric Interface and 24-port GbE Base Interface AdvancedTCA®
(ATCA) multilayer Switch Blade based on Broadcom BCM56800 and BCM56312 switch silicon. It
supports up to thirteen 10GbE ports for a 14-slot PICMG 3.0 ATCA system, with six egress GbE ports
and two 10GbE SFP+ uplink ports via front panel access. With optional AMC-3420 mezzanine card,
users can have 4 additional SFP+ uplink ports for maximum connectivity. The ADLINK aTCA-3420
incorporates Broadcom's FASTPATH® networking software and is designed for ATCA adopters (NEPs &
TEMs) who require AMC modularity, 10GbE layer 3 switching, a scalable control-plane engine and
high-availability Fabric Interface.
The aTCA-3420 is ideal for ATCA platform adopters who require high speed and high bandwidth data
transport interconnects for packet switching and highly flexible external I/O access. It meets the
bandwidth-intensive switching requirements of applications such as IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS)
servers, media gateways, 3G wireless, network monitoring, Unified Threat Management servers,
packet inspection servers and enterprise media servers.
ADLINK's aTCA-3420 is equipped with Broadcom's FASTPATH® networking software. The extensive
feature set and integration capabilities of FASTPATH® enables powerful networking capabilities for
the Fabric Interface. It also assists hardware in switching frames and provides comprehensive device
management to the network administrator.
ADLINK Software for Network (ADSN) Product Brief

With the exponential growth of data traffic, service operators need increasing amounts of switch bandwidth to keep up with operational demands. The 40G switch has now become mainstream, superseding the 10G-based switch, and will eventually be replaced by the 100G switch as the industry standard in the near future. As a telecom and network platform provider, ADLINK supplies 10G & 40G ATCA products and has developed the ADLINK Software for Network that allows customers to configure, manage and monitor ATCA switch blades and NPU-based processor blades.
The ADLINK Software for Network is a comprehensive, optimized middleware designed to allow operators to easily configure, manage and monitor switch status. It includes support for Layer 2 (IEEE 802.3), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP-IEEE 802.1D), VLAN support (IEEE 802.1Q), Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP-IEEE 802.3AD) and switch statistics. For Layer 3 protocols, the ADLINK Software for Network supports wire-speed layer-3 packet routing base on route protocols such as RIP/OSPF/BGP. To fulfill different complex requirements, the ADLINK Software for Network also integrates with the Linux kernel to support miscellaneous features such as ACL/High-Availability. In addition, the ADLINK Software for Network not only provides a traditional command-line interface for management, but also includes libraries and APIs for further customization and integration with customers¡¦ management systems.
