ADLINK Technology, a global provider of leading Edge Computing solutions, today introduced its new STC-AL Series of smart touch computers for industry-based human machine interface. The Series delivers on performance, flexible function expansion, system robustness, and ease of management, significantly benefitting workflow visualization and process control and monitoring for industrial applications including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, textile, printing, machinery, logistics, and many more.
The STC-AL Series is based on quad-core Intel Atom
® X7-E3950 processors and provides projected capacitive (PCAP) or 5-wire resistive touch interfaces in 10-, 12- and 15-inch display sizes. Support for fieldbus communication, wireless connectivity, and other functions is provided by Mini PCIe expansion, to interface with industrial networks, automated systems, machine controllers, and auxiliary equipment. In addition to default I/O connections, the STC-AL delivers flexible I/O customization to fulfill a wide range of application-specific functionality. The exceptionally robust system features IP65-rated moisture and particulate protection on the front side and operating temperature compatibility up to -20°C to 60°C. Versatile power input capability ranges from 9V to 36V. Remote management of STC provided by ADLINK’s SEMA (Smart Embedded Management Agent) utility for maximized system uptime.
In automated batch processing environments such as food and beverage processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing, the STC-AL provides an industrial human machine interface enabling process parameter and quality attribute monitoring, promoting product traceability to ensure regulatory compliance. For machine tools, the STC-AL supports machine configuration, CNC program flow control, and toolpath simulation and visualization for high-speed precision machining. Automated optical inspection (AOI) systems can further benefit from STC-AL’s display of real-time defect images, inspection results and yield rate.
The STC-AL can also be a valuable asset to logistics operations by enabling visualization of package processing workflow, displaying packing labels and item dimensions and weight as real-time images for package sorting, identification, and tracking.
