Taipei, Taiwan – April 11, 2017 – ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading global provider of cloud-based services, intelligent gateways, and embedded building blocks for edge devices that enable the Internet of Things (IoT), will make its first attendance at Taipei’s Secutech security expo, to be held from April 12 to 14 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (booth number: 3305). ADLINK will showcase its MCS-2080 industrial-grade Intelligent Video Management Server and deliver a keynote speech during the event.
In recent years, innovations in IP cameras and improved network bandwidth have placed increased demands on the processing performance of video surveillance systems. Conventional networked video recorders (NVR) and video management systems (VMS) are not able to meet the requirements for video processing, intelligent analytics and identifications. When users upgrade their video surveillance systems to intelligent systems, they will need a server platform with higher performance, efficiency and reliability. ADLINK has developed the MCS-2080 as a dedicated Intelligent Video Management Server that specifically meet the needs of today’s video analytics solutions, and will be displayed in our booth at Secutech.
The ADLINK will present its MCS-2080 intelligent video management server as used in an intelligent video surveillance (IVS) application. Encoded video data from IP cameras is sent to the MCS-2080 where it is efficiently decoded and and processed by the GPU integrated in the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1585 v5. The preprocessed data is then passed on to the intelligent image identification software which performs analysis such as identifying objects from the background for further analysis and target tracking. Alarms can be proactively triggered for security events, with messages delivered to the control center.
ADLINK’s MCS-2080 is a dedicated video server which distinguishes itself from conventional generic servers by utilizing the integrated Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics P580 GPU for image processing, thus allowing the processor to focus on analytic tasks. The MCS-2080 has greatly improved surveillance system performance and efficiency compared with conventional systems on the market which use general-purpose servers and software transcoding.
Yong Luo, general manager of ADLINK’s Network Communications and Public Business Unit, said, “Intelligent video surveillance has been widely applied to many areas, such as public security, finance, intelligent building, energy, transportation, culture and education. The MCS-2080 server running video management software can support up to 256 channels of H.265 4K network cameras for real time display of processed video and post-analysis content. Furthermore, the 2U chassis supports up to 16 systems, providing high density and great space-economy. These features have allowed ADLINK customers to compete large scale city surveillance projects in China which implement a “safe city” vision.
The MCS-2080 is a 2U modular server with eight dual-system modules and 16 high performance Intel® Xeon® Processor E3 v5 and designed for medium and large scale intelligent surveillance applications (512 channels at 1080p). Each module can be hot-swapped for maintenance without affecting the operation of the other systems. The server also provides eight PCIe x8 slots to meet expansion requirements, such as 10 Gigabit network adapter cards or optical fiber host bus adapter (HBA) cards for use with storage area network (SAN) devices to implement centralized management and archiving of video data. A built-in Chassis Monitoring Module (CMM) provides a common management interface to monitor the operational status of all server modules, channels, fans and switches. The MCS-2080 also implements a High Availability (HA) design. Each system is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports for connection to dual redundant 10 Gigabit switches, minimizing the risk of network breakdown during video data transmission to the server.
The ADLINK MCS-2080’s high performance computing and graphics processing capabilities, high reliability and high availability deliver significantly improved performance over conventional video systems. The redundant network switches and power design provide for fast maintenance and recovery, giving customers a high return on investment (ROI). High compatibility with software used by most surveillance systems provides ease of use for customers. The users also greatly benefit from the MCS-2080’s hot-swappable module design, which allows them to keep surveillance systems running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The modular design also allows users to expand system their system as the number of cameras increases.
In addition to showcasing MCS-2080 Intelligent Video Management Server at Secutech, ADLINK will also deliver a keynote speech: “Holistic Solution for an Intelligent Road Traffic Monitoring Control System”, 15:30 on April 12th (Chinese) and 13th (English), Meeting Room 402C (4F), Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
