ADLINK Technology Inc. formally announces today that it has become a member of the
Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSATM) consortium.
These two consortia are due to be holding their first-ever joint exposition later this month, and ADLINK is set to participate. The company will be using the event to showcase its FACE-certified
Vortex Data Distribution Service (DDS), with visitors to the ADLINK booth being able to see an air traffic control demonstration based on this technology.
The SOSA™ consortium has been driving the interoperability of the VPX solutions from different vendors by addressing the gap within OpenVPX standards. ADLINK’s fast growing,
rugged VPX portfolio enables compute-intensive, SWaP constrained mission-critical applications for deployment in the world’s most demanding military and aerospace environments. By integrating complementary offerings, such as Vortex DDS™ as well as expertise in Industrial IoT and edge computing, ADLINK can provide data-to-decision solutions that enable military customers to harness the power of big data — an indispensable key to maintaining strategic and tactical advantages.
As the first commercial software to achieve Transport Service Segment (TSS) certification in both C++ and Java Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Vortex DDS™ has gained considerable traction within the global avionics market - enabling rapid and efficient high volume data sharing, while ensuring elevated degrees of security plus end-to-end quality of service. Through its FACE certification, and now ADLINK’s SOSA membership, Vortex DDS™ is proving itself as a highly attractive option for military/aerospace projects.
“ADLINK’s involvement with the SOSA consortium underlines our steadfast commitment to the avionics and defense sectors, and our continued pledge to support them with the advanced data-to-decision solutions they need,” states Roy Keeler, Senior Product and Business Development Manager for Aerospace and Defense at ADLINK. “By being involved in consortia like SOSA and FACE, we are making a clear contribution to the establishing of standards-based, open architectural platforms that will encourage greater interoperability, accelerate project completion and enable maximum resource reuse.”
