San Jose, CA, July 26, 2016 – ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading global provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms, announces the release of its new IMT-BT industrial tablet, integrating the dual-core Intel® Celeron® Processor N2807 for high performance computing power. An IP65 rating and 1.5 meter drop resistance allow the IMT-BT to withstand the most demanding transportation and logistics environments.
The IMT-BT industrial rugged tablet with vehicle dock can be installed in each vehicle within a fleet to enable both asset tracking and data processing in the field. Using the IMT-BT with integrated GPS and extensive wireless communications options (built-in WLAN and optional WWAN), truck control centers can easily track the location and movement of a fleet and provide field workers with advanced technology in a rugged form factor for reliable field computing, communication, and data collection.
Consumer-style design with industrial durability
The IMT-BT is as attractive as the market’s leading consumer tablets, with a 10.1” capacitive touchscreen and built-in megapixel cameras on the front and rear for easy on-site data collection. The IMT-BT is fully ruggedized with an IP65-rated enclosure and the durability to withstand drops up to 1.5 meters (with optional protective rubber housing). The display’s ultra-strong Gorilla® Glass is virtually impervious to damage, able to flex on impact without shattering or scratching.
“ADLINK’s IMT-BT leverages consumer design styles to deliver greater ease-of-use and an optimal user experience with industrial grade ruggedness,” said Richard Tai, head of ADLINK’s Display Computing Product Segment. “The tablet supports multiple operating systems, Windows Embedded 8.1 and Android 4.4.2, which fulfills the requirements of most applications.”
Functional in various workplace scenarios
The IMT-BT supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac protocols for the fastest wireless connectivity in any setting. The optional data-only modem provides communications on high-speed 3.5G HSPA+ or 4G LTE cellular connections. In the office or out in the field, with WLAN or optional WWAN connectivity, the IMT-BT supports speedy data transfer and processing. In addition, the sunlight-readable display enables clear, easy viewing even in the brightest outdoor environments, as well as in the office, and a vehicle dock is provided for ease-of-use in a variety of field and transport scenarios.
Advanced HF RFID technology with data security
The IMT-BT’s NFC reader/writer supports recognition of RFID tags (13.56 MHz), and a built-in SAM (Secure Access Module) slot dependably secures communication of encrypted data for sensitive and confidential applications.
