Vortex Café, is currently being used by a group of engineering students at ESIEE
, an engineering school in Marne la Vallée, France for an international competition, Solar Decathlon (http://www.solardecathlon2014.com)
to design smart homes using mainly solar energy.
The ESIEE group handles the Electronic and computer aspects in the home in combination with other schools and universities that are involved in other parts of the house. Electronic equipment has been provided to them mainly by Schneider Electric, and they are using the Data Distribution Service (DDS) to communicate using Android tablets and computers with these devices.
