Position Description:
Technical Support Technician must have a solid understanding of computer hardware, software and operating systems including Windows (all variants including Embedded), Linux, VxWorks and others. The candidate will be familiar with computers and interfaces including ISA, PCI, PATA, PC104, PCIe, SATA, PEG etc.
- Install verify operating systems and drivers for new products.
- Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and e-mails from customers addressing
- their questions and concerns regarding the company's products and services, as well as
- troubleshooting any technical problems they may have.
- Read schematics and debug products.
- Effectively communicate to other teams within the organization.
- Technicians may be expected to repair minor problems in hardware, software, or
- equipment.
EDUCATION:
AS or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- AS or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
- Proven working experience in technical support, IT support or as a technical engineer
- preferred
- Basic knowledge of Windows, and Linux operating systems required. Familiarity with
- other real-time operating systems such as VxWorks desired
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
