ADLINK Technology, a leading global provider of cloud-based services, intelligent gateways, and embedded building blocks for edge devices that enable the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced the Express-BL COM Express® Basic Size Type 6 module and the cPCI-A3515 Series 3U CompactPCI® Serial-compatible processor blade, both based on 5th generation Intel® Core™ processors i7-5850EQ and i7-5700EQ (H-processor line). Featuring improved graphics and processing performance compared to the previous generation Intel Core processor, the Express-BL is suitable for fanless edge device solutions that demand intense graphics performance and multitasking capabilities in a space-constrained environment, such as industrial control and mobile medical applications. The cPCI-A3515 is a high performance solution for military, transportation and industrial automation applications that require superior data transfer capability and advanced computing power in a rugged environment.
"The ADLINK Express-BL offers a seamless upgrade from our Express-HL to extend current platform designs, lower development costs and reduce time to market," said Matthias Huber, VP, Global Marketing for ADLINK. "With both this latest computer-on-module and the cPCI-A3515 processor blade, end customers can easily upgrade their equipment with minimized investment and get the most out of their existing infrastructure with excellent CPU performance, high-quality manageability, extended life cycle and maximized ROI."
"The new 5th generation Intel® Core™ processors (H-processor line) built using Intel's latest 14nm process technology are designed to deliver stunning graphics and powerful quad-core CPU performance, supporting the next generation of Internet of Things solutions," said Samuel Cravatta, Intel IOTG Product Line director.
The ADLINK Express-BL features Intel® Iris Pro 6200 and Intel® HD Graphics 5600 integrated in the CPU and provides two DDI channels (with up to 4K resolution) and one LVDS channel supporting three independent displays, enabling it to drive multiple HD screens without the need for a discrete graphics card. In addition, Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) is optionally available to support next generation displays. The Express-BL also provides rich, high-bandwidth I/O, including PCI Express Graphics (PEG), PCIe, SATA and USB ports. A wide range of operating systems are supported, including Linux, Windows 7 and 8.1u, Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Embedded Industry 8.1 and VxWorks.
The ADLINK cPCI-A3515 Series is CompactPCI Serial CPCI-S.0 compliant and features a Mobile Intel® QM87 Express Chipset and soldered DDR3L-1333/1600 ECC memory up to 16GB. The processor blade includes standard front I/O of 2x DisplayPorts, 2x GbE and 2x USB 3.0, as well as optional onboard SSD, mSATA socket and 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD connector support, and optional CompactPCI bus for legacy CompactPCI 2.0 peripheral boards. The cPCI-A3515 supports satellite mode operation as a standalone blade in peripheral slots and offers full mesh topology for 1000Base-T—supporting 9x blades without requiring a switch blade—and single star topology for 5x SATA and 8x USB. The blade's rugged design includes extended temperature support and a conduction cooled option.
The Express-BL and cPCI-A3515 are equipped with ADLINK's Smart Embedded Management Agent (SEMA) to provide access to detailed system activities at the device level, including temperature, voltage, power consumption and other key information, and allow operators to identify inefficiencies and malfunctions in real-time, thus preventing failures and minimizing downtime. ADLINK's SEMA-equipped devices connect seamlessly to our SEMA Cloud solution to enable remote monitoring, autonomous status analysis, custom data collection and initiation of appropriate actions. All collected data, including sensor measurements and management commands, are available from any place, at any time via encrypted data connection.
