IEC61131-3 Soft Logic
What is ISaGRAF?

ISaGRAF was designed to turn any industrial computer into a high performance, yet inexpensive Soft Logic Controller. ISaGRAF is based on the only internationally recognized industrial standard for industrial automation control languages, the IEC61131-3, and fully supports all six of the PLC languages: Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Instruction List (IL) and Flow Chart (FC).

The Runtime Kernel

The ISaGRAF Runtime Kernel is a portable execution engine that has similar behavior to traditional Programmable Controllers (PLCs), but exceeds them in performance and flexibility. The ISaGRAF Runtime Kernel also has additional functionalities, such as communications, process control, SCADA and motion control which greatly expand and enhance the application possibilities.

Windows NT Runtime

ISaGRAF NT Runtime with Workbench provides users to incorporate Windows development tools, HMI, control logic execution and PC-based I/O interfaces on a single CPU and hardware platform. With careful system configuration of the NT platform, a soft real-time performance of 1 millisecond response can be achieved on a standard industrial PC without special co-processors or supplemental OS.

The Workbench

The ISaGRAF Workbench which runs on Windows 95/98/NT is a Windows-based software development environment used to create control logic programs written in any or all of the six IEC61131-3 languages. Any ISaGRAF Workbench can be used with any target system that uses the ISaGRAF Runtime Kernel.

Real-time Soft Logic and PC Control

Off-the-shelf runtimes can be installed on open architecture PCs and board level computers such as PCI, CompactPCI and so on. These runtimes are available for DOS and Windows NT (Linux in the future) combining with NuPRO, NuDAQ and NuIPC series products for high flexibility and plug-and-play capabilities without compromising standards or performance.
