The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive was approved in 2004 by the European Parliament to protect human health and the environment through the restricted use of certain hazardous substances, such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, in new electronic equipment and to complement the WEEE regulations.

Categories excluded from the RoHS directive are medical instruments (category 8) and monitoring and control instruments (category 9)

Although ADLINK's data acquisition, motion control, vision and surveillance, and field communication products are classified category 9 products that fall outside of the scope of the RoHS directive, we are still dedicated to protecting the environment by eliminating hazardous substances from our products.

ADLINK's Green Partner Group has established a "Green Supplier Chain" to ensure the compliance with the RoHS directive. Our manufacturing team has setup and certified lead-free processes, equipment, and quality control systems for green products. ADLINK's products have implemented available RoHS-compliant materials.

Most end-user products that the above mentioned ADLINK products are used in do not require RoHS compliance. However, ADLINK will actively work with customers whose products are not RoHS exempt under category 8 or category 9 classifications.
