  Ordering Information
The increasing prevalence of high-bandwidth multimedia applications in use over the network, such as video streaming and conferencing, remote education, remote medical services and real-time video analytics, requires providers to upgrade media server performance in order to deliver a high quality user experience. However, general purpose rack servers currently available on the market were not specifically designed for media applications, lacking the required levels of performance and compute density.

In contrast to general purpose rack servers which usually have at most two CPUs and perform software video transcoding, the ADLINK Media Cloud Server is an Application Ready Intelligent Platform (ARIP) for advanced video applications with high density computing performance that is designed from the ground up to meet the technical considerations specific to media servers while being cost-effective and easy to maintain.

The Intel® Media Software Development Kit (Intel® Media SDK) is a cross-platform (Windows and Linux) application programming interface (API) for developing professional media applications, including video editing and processing, media conversion, streaming, playback, and video conferencing.

The Intel® Media SDK is designed to provide the fastest possible performance on Intel® CPUs equipped with Intel® Quick Sync Video hardware. Intel® Media SDK effectively uses the GPU to offload transcoding tasks from the CPU, significantly accelerating video processing speed and reducing CPU resource loading. Intel Media SDK supports current Intel processors as well as those that will be available in the future. Applications will not need to be redesigned to take advantage of new processor features as they emerge.

The Intel® Media SDK has extensive video processing capabilities, but it does not provide a comprehensive end-to-end solution for media processing tasks. ADLINK MediaManager fills this gap and provides the following functionality: container file operations (mux and demux), Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) receiving/streaming, video composition, and processing of audio elements. Customers developing fully functional media applications will no longer need to write software from scratch to perform these operations.

Manage Media Processing Challenges in the Cloud Era using ADLINK Media Cloud Server

Media applications are mobile. People want the flexibility to access applications from any device, anywhere, anytime, without compromising quality due to latency or visualization. In order to provide media application flexibility and deal with the explosive growth of video data, digital security surveillance and video streaming service providers are moving their video service applications to the cloud. Video conferencing service providers are following suit, because moving the conferencing server to the cloud makes it possible to share conferencing resources more efficiently. In addition, the introduction of cloud-friendly Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) brings the benefit of a pure browser-based, plug-in free client....

ADLINK Media Cloud Server Assists in Intelligent Video Analytics

Public security has become a focus of concern around the world. The wide availability of high bandwidth connectivity and increasing functionality of electronic devices has led to the recent advances in connected and Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) systems. Typically, IVS systems decode video streams from surveillance cameras, identify objects of interest using intelligent image recognition technology, analyze and track the objects of interest, automatically raise alerts when a security event is detected, and finally notify the user or relevant authority

ADLINK Media Cloud Server- Helps you address the challenges of video transcoding

With the rapid developments in telecommunications, broadcast television networks and Internet video traffic in recent years, the network carriers have been devoting greater efforts in building networks and transmission devices with large-scale increases in bandwidth including 4G mobile network facilities that have been deployed and put into commercial application in many regions...
