  Ordering Information
The ADLINK aTCA-9300 is a high performance AdvancedTCA® (ATCA) processor blade featuring dual 4-core Intel® Xeon® processor E3 1275V2 /1225V2, Intel® C216 Chipset, four channel memory up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory and 300 W power supply subsystem. Versatile connectivity includes dual 10GbE Fabric Interfaces, dual GbE Base Interfaces, quad front panel GbE egress ports, front panel dual COM and USB 2.0 ports and front panel VGA connector. An onboard SATA connector supports CFast up to 32 GB and the optional RTM (aTCA-R6270/R6280) supports an 8-channel mini-SAS port, dual 10GbE SFP+ ports, dual USB ports and dual hot-swappable SATA bays providing additional network throughput and storage capacities.

The aTCA-9300"s thermal solution (including VRM heat sink) ensures stable operation under extreme operating environments and allows for compliance to the NEBS Level 3 standard (design only). The robust computing power and reliability of the aTCA-9300 meets the requirements of telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) and network equipment providers (NEPs), allowing them to build the next-generation telecom networks and communication infrastructures.

Detailed features are outlined below and a functional block diagram is shown in the next section.
Telecommunications providers are rapidly transforming their networks to support new and innovative IP-enabled communications services. The ever-growing popularity of Over-The-Top (OTT) video content and communications services such as YouTube, Netflix and Skype and rapid adoption rates of new 4G mobile video-enabled smartphones are increasing demand for media delivered over the Internet. In addition, the volume of media streams particularly video streams in 4G/LTE mobile and OTT services network continues to grow exponentially.

Mobile, wireless, and broadband network operators increasingly need flexible and efficient video/media processing and communications capabilities (i.e., IP stream-to-IP stream, IP stream-to-file and visa versa) in their networks. These solutions need to economically deliver application scalability and network simplicity for next-generation IP video and communications services by enabling Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architectures using Video Services Gateways, Media Resource Function Processor (MRFP) and/or Session Border Controller (SBC) nodes.
ADLINK aTCA-9300 ATCA® Processor Blade Delivers Telecom Grade Performance with Optimum Cost-efficiency

March 1, 2013, Taipei Taiwan - ADLINK Technology, a renowned provider of robust telecom-grade processor blades, rolls out the newest member of its AdvancedTCA® blade family, the aTCA-9300. The aTCA-9300 delivers high-performance, high throughput connectivity, versatile and rich I/O, and ultra reliability at a highly cost-effective price, and is suitable for high-end applications such as network monitoring or media streaming.

The aTCA-9300 features dual 4-core Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1275V2/1225V2 running at up to 3.5/3.2 GHz respectively, combined with the Intel® C216 Chipset, four channel DDR3 memory up to 32GB and 300W power supply subsystem. Although it doesn"t have the highest specification in ADLINK"s aTCA blade lineup, the aTCA-9300 is an extremely cost-efficient solution for network monitoring, A/A-bis signal monitoring, AXIe and WIFI AC applications which require multiple Gigabit data plane throughput and workstation/desktop CPU performance.

The aTCA-9300"s versatile connectivity includes dual 10GbE Fabric Interfaces, dual GbE Base Interfaces, six front panel GbE egress ports, front panel dual COM and USB 2.0 ports and front panel VGA connector. An onboard SATA connector supporting CFast up to 32GB is provided, as well as an optional RTM supporting an 8-channel mini-SAS port, dual 10GbE SFP+ ports, dual USB ports and dual hot-swappable SATA bays to provide additional network throughput and storage capabilities.

ADLINK MediaManager Product Brief

The Intel® Media Software Development Kit (Intel® Media SDK) is designed to provide the fastest possible performance on Intel® CPUs equipped with Intel® Quick Sync Video hardware. Intel® Media SDK effectively uses the GPU to offload transcoding tasks from the CPU,making transcoding much faster and also resulting in less CPU resource loading.

The Intel® Media SDK has extensive video processing functionality, but it does not provide a comprehensive end-to-end solution for media processing tasks. Notable exceptions are container file operations (mux and deux), Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) receiving/ streaming, and audio processing.

ADLINK MediaManager provides the means to handle the operations not supported by the Intel® Media SDK, including mux/demux of media container files, RTP receiving and RTP streaming as shown in Figure 1. ADLINK MSDK Plus allows the customer to easily develop fully functional media processing applications compatible with common video and audio formats.

Figure 1 The functions provided by ADLINK MediaManager

As the Intel® Media SDK is designed to be compatible with future Intel® GPU hardware, customers who implement their solutions with ADLINK MSDK Plus will be able to take advantage of future Intel graphics processing solutions with minimal effort when porting to future ADLINK platforms supporting Intel® Media SDK.
